Test Fly of Hirobo Eagle WC3

We have just returned from test flying Don's Hirobo Eagle WC3. We believe this is the only example of this model in Australia. It is a limited edition, one of 250 built and is supposedly an exact replica of the model Hashimoto won the 2003 world champs with. Only one tank was put through it so far as it was getting late (and dark). Expect to see a comparison of this, the Sylphide and the XCell Tempest FAI on Little Rotors soon.

The WC3 has a split feathering spindle, which allows it to develop coning angle at lower head speeds to improve stability. It also has a very elaborate servo sliding mechanism to contribute to reducing interaction. This is a high parts count, top of the line model. We used an OS91 C-Spec PS engine, GY601, GV1 and 9252s. It flew faultlessly on its first tank, with only a couple of clicks of trim needed, and that was probably due to a weight imbalance.

Expect more pictures soon.
