Saturday was wet in the morning, clearing to showers. It was a mongrel of a day! It took over an hour to select a new hovering spot that wasn't under water, then mark lines, move the carpet etc. We then did a round, had lunch and had another round. Mike's Sylphide fell over after an auto where the one way had seized.
Sunday saw better weather all around, so we got stuck into two rounds of A schedule. Andrew's Millennium fell forward in the ditch after loosing too much head speed on the auto. We then did a round of B schedule. Simon's Sylphide fell over after loosing too much head speed on the auto. Dan put all the 91 machines to shame by getting his 180 degree auto with two 90 degree turns in the square, using a raptor 50! The cross wind was amazing, the head speed just disappeared as soon as the engine was cut!.
Places are below. Thanks very much to everyone that took part, including Bill for lunch, Ross for time keeping (and knowing who was up next) and Nick, Dave, Brett, Terry and Don for judging. I am sure the pilots appreciate the time your put into this.
Congratulations to all the pilots including Simon, Andrew and Neil. And a big congratulations to Lindsay for falling off his chair!
We are likely to do this again next year, but it might have a change of format and probably time of year!

Nick's mozzie approaching the puddle. |
The Mozzie in the puddle. What a great insight, bringing a model with floats! |
Dave marking a line. |
We moved the judges back a bit to avoid the puddle. |
Hovering Square - note the nice carpet! |
The judges, learning stuff ready for next weekend. |
Once again, here is a local copy of the F3C rules. They are from the FAI site.
