The 2006 Helicopter Smackdown

The Hume is road 31 on the map, it's about an hours drive, maybe 40 minutes of which is on the Hume.

Spectacular 3D flying demonstrations by Alan and Jason, two of the world's leading 3D pilots.

Entry Fee

The entry fee is $10 per person per day, regardless of whether you are flying or not.

Times

We intend to start at 9:00 and stop flying methanol models ay 7:00 as is listed in the rules for the state field. Flying of electrics is planned from 7:0 onwards. There is power at the field.

Pilots

If you are flying, you will need to register, wear a bib, have FAI/MAAA insurance and have a currently certified radio, which will be impounded when you are not flying.

Accommodation

Apollo Gardens, Cabin Style accomodation with heaps of room for choppers, half hours drive from the field.

Timetable

We currently expect to have 3 demo flights each day. We will also have one Smackdown event and one TRex event.

Food & Dinner

Food will be available at the event. Alcohol is banned. Saturday night food will be available at the event also.

Radio Certification

We will have radio certification available, for a fee, Saturday afternoon. If your radio is not certified you will not be able to fly.

Electrics

There will be an electric event (for 400-450 size helis), judged by Jason Krause and with a TREX SE as the prize. It will be a 3D style competition, you need to impress him. There will also be a TREX drag race.

Smackdown event

Goal:To perform an autorotation onto a raised platform approximately one metre in diameter and half a metre above the ground. People who successfully auto onto the platform without falling off will go into the draw to win a 3DMP.

Trade Enquiries

Trade enquiries, including space allocation, fees and recommended hiring companies are available by contacting the club Publicity Officer via publicity@mrchc.org.au. There is no fee for trade tent space, however prize donations are strongly encouraged. The trade must register if they want to have a stand. Tent locations will be first in best dressed. The tent size is 12'x12' with a maximum of two tents per business.
